Q: How quickly will I receive my new Lloyd Flanders Wicker Furniture  or Lloyd Flanders Replacement Cushions  after I place my order?
A: Lloyd Flanders will normally ship your order within about (3) weeks from the time we receive and place your order with the factory. Please allow up to one (1) additional week for transit time to your home. Stores who tell you otherwise are bending the truth and are not trustworthy.  Please also allow up to one (1) additional week for Factory Special Order Fabrics selected from the Sunbrella™ High Point Collection.  Although delays are infrequent they can occassionally occur.  You will be immediately notified in the event of any delay due to an out of stock or discontinued fabric.  Please place your order far enough in advance to allow for minor delays which may occur during peak ordering season from April to July .

Q: I was shopping on the internet for Genuine Lloyd Flanders Cushions and found lower price "Generic" replacement cushions that were advertised to "fit" my Lloyd Flanders Furniture. What is the difference?
A: Be aware of Replacement Cushion Online websites using Lloyd Flanders names and images which are designed to misrepresent and trick the consumer into purchasing "Generic” cushions of much lesser quality. Although you may find a lower price "Generic" replacement cushion elsewhere you will never duplicate the expertly tailored quality, performance, and luxurious comfort of Genuine Lloyd Flanders Replacement Cushions.   Lloyd Flanders newest “Comfort Plush™ Outdoor Seating System” is standard on most current and recently discontinued Outdoor Wicker Collections. Combine this with the "new" generation of Sunbrella Solution Dyed Acrylic Fabrics to insure years of customer satisfaction.

Q: I am unsure which Lloyd Flanders Outdoor Wicker Furniture Collection I have.  How can I be certain before I place an order for replacement cushions?
A: If you are uncertain, please email several pictures of your set to SALES@WICKEREAST.COM  and we will be happy to assist you in identifying your Lloyd Flanders Collection.  Over the years, the most popular "Original Loom" Wicker Collections produced by Lloyd Flanders have been Reflections, Embassy, Mandalay, Keepsakes, Front Porch and Heirloom.  Since 2006, the most popular synthetic "Woven Vinyl" Collection produced by Lloyd Flanders has been Grand Traverse.  Finally, if you original cushions still have the paper consumer tags attached, a four or five digit number which appears may also help us to identify your set.  Note: The Blue or Green label located on the underside of your furniture which contain the serial number pertain to production dates only and will not help to identify your Lloyd Flanders Collection.

Q: Does Lloyd Flanders sell replacement "Zippered Cushion Covers Only" for my original cushions which would allow me to reuse my seat and back cushion cores to reduce my total cost?
A:  Yes, but this is not always a wise decision.  The cost of a Lloyd Flanders seat "cover only" is as much as 90% of the cost of a "complete" seat cushion with core. Although Lloyd Flanders does offer replacement "cushion covers only" for seat cushions of "Current Furniture Line-Up Collections", this is not normally a recommended option. Typically after years of use the core of your old cushion has become soiled and compressed to the point that there is a noticeable loss of thickness as well as overall comfort. This condition will result in the new replacement cushion cover appearing to be much too large when applied over your old cushion core.  Removing and replacing the "layered" Dacron cushion core may also be difficult.  Although you may save some money in the short term you will greatly sacrifice maximum comfort and appearance for the life of your cushions.  Please call or Contact Us for pricing if you wish to pursue this option.  Lloyd Flanders will also provide replacement “cushion covers only” for back cushions of "Current Furniture Line-Up Collections", but the task to change them is not always simple or recommended.  While back cushion covers “without buttons” pose no major problem, those "with buttons" can be much more challenging.  Lloyd Flanders will provide you with replacement cushion covers and buttons with string loops which will require attachment “through” the cushion with the use of a narrow crochet hook or similar device, which is not provided.  This is often easier than it sounds as the strings are very short and the hook can also snag and damage the fabric during this process. There is also a likelihood that the polyfill in your original back cushion has compressed to the point that there is a noticeable loss of thickness as well as comfort. Please call or Contact Us for pricing if you wish to pursue this option.

Q: Why are there different Grades and Prices for fabrics?
A: Grade A fabrics are the least costly and Grade D fabrics are the most. The price of fabrics is largely determined by the Textile and Fabric Finishing Mills who manufacture them. This process takes into consideration the composition of the fabric such as polyester, olefin or acrylic, whether the material is non-woven (printed) or woven, as well as the overall size, color, and complexity of producing an individual pattern.

Unlike a solid color fabric, those with specific patterns may also require significantly more yardage for “centering” during the cutting process.  This additional loss of material may translate into a higher "Grade" being assigned to those fabrics.

Q: Grade B, C & D Fabrics are more costly than Grade A Fabrics. Does this mean that the higher price fabrics will always outperform a lesser price fabric from the standpoint of wear or fading?
A: Not Necessarily. There are several types of outdoor rated fabrics which include Spun Polyester, Solution Dyed Polyester, Solution Dyed Olefin, Printed Acrylic, and Solution Dyed Acrylic such as Sunbrella™ Brand Fabrics. Lloyd®/Flanders offers many Solution Dyed Acrylics in Grade A which will perform as well as many higher priced fabrics.

Q: What is the difference between "Printed" Acrylic Fabrics and "Solution Dyed" Fabrics?
A: "Printed" Acrylic Fabrics use the same dyes and silk-screening process as other non-woven printed fabrics such as cotton and spun polyester. Although the Acrylic base material of a printed acrylic fabric is more durable for outdoor usage, the colors will fade to the same degree as an indoor fabric. Printed fabrics are often associated with elaborate floral patterns. Spun Polyester and Printed Acrylic Fabrics perform best in indoor and covered outdoor areas where direct sunlight can be controlled. "Solution Dyed" Acrylics (such as Sunbrella™) are woven fabrics which consist of individual solution-dyed fibers with a fluorocarbon finish to enhances water repellency. Solution-dying is the process of adding color to acrylic fibers during manufacturing while they are in a liquid state. Woven fabrics generally appear as solids or blends rather than larger designs. Solution Dyed fabrics offer superior fade and mildew resistance for outdoor use.

Q: What is the actual difference in performance between Spun Polyester, Printed Acrylic and Solution Dyed Fabrics, from the standpoint of fading due to exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays?
A: UV (Ultraviolet) Resistance is rated using a Fadeometer which is a device that tests the permanence of a fabric's color (fading) when exposed to sunlight. Typically, Spun Polyester and Printed Acrylic Fabrics have a Rating of up to about 500 Hours, while Solution Dyed Acrylics such as Sunbrella® generally have a minimum Rating of 1500 Hours. The newest Sunbrella® Acrylic Fabrics include a 5-year limited warranty against loss of color or strength due to exposure to sunlight or mildew.

Q: Do certain fabric colors perform better than others when used outdoors?
A: In high sunlight situations deep colors on printed fabrics such as Red, Navy Blue, Black and Hunter Green tend to show fading more quickly than more muted earth tone colors. Premature fading is much less a factor if you select a Solution Dyed fabric for this application. Common sense is usually the best approach to this question.

Q: Is mildew ever a factor with outdoor cushions and furniture?
A: Occasionally. Mildew grows on dirt, pollen or other organic matter which collects on the surface of a material which remains damp and shaded for extended periods of time. This condition is most prevalent on covered or screened porches, as well as fully exposed areas, particularly with northern exposure. Cushions and furniture should be kept clean using  Lloyd®/Flanders Care & Maintenance Instructions or Sunbrella® Care & Cleaning Instructions.  Keep a close watch for this condition during long periods of overcast and hot humid weather, even if you are currently using outdoor furniture covers. Although excessive sunlight is not recommended, a moderate amount will actually help to curtail this problem.

Q: Is it necessary to store my cushions and furniture indoors during the winter season if I already have outdoor covers for my furniture?
A: Although it is recommended that Lloyd Flanders Outdoor Wicker Furniture and Cushions be stored indoors during the off season, the cushions should always be removed and stored in a dry location. We have heard of isolated instances over the years where critters such as mice and squirrels have completely destroyed furniture and cushions when left outside during the cold months.

Q: What can I do to extend the lifespan and appearance of my new furniture or replacement cushions?
A: Keep your cushions & frames clean using Lloyd®/Flanders Care & Maintenance Instructions.  When using these products indoors, use blinds or shades to filter sunlight from windows as well as overhead skylights. When using these products outdoors under a covered porch, the use of outdoor furniture covers is suggested to help shield the cushions and frames from the natural elements as well as dirt and pollen in the air. In a fully exposed situation, Solution Dyed Fabrics and outdoor furniture covers are strongly recommended. When possible, always store your frames and cushions indoors during the off season to help protect and maximize the lifespan of your investment.
